G’day Chris,
I have just been looking through your updated photos and thought I would drop you a line to congratulate you on a top job! The new bridge looks fantastic! You must be really happy with how your track is progressing and must now be close to finishing the track.
I have not had much time over the past few months to get much done on my track however I am hoping to have the tunnel in the ground within the next couple of weeks which will be a huge milestone!
Keep up the good work!
Regards, Dave.

Nice pix of your progress.
Kind of fun to watch as we are doing the same thing on an island in the Pacific just about diagonally across the pacific from you on Vancouver Island.
We have changed from press on ties to fully welded as well and are very happy with the new track. We have just got to the point of ballasting the new trackage of just under a kilometer.
The new extension sure has been hard on the knees even with the fancy gel knee pads I still feel like an old man sometimes. I am sure there are times you wonder just what made you think this would be fun.
Have a look at the
www.livesteaming.com
web site for pix of the Vancouver Island Model Engineers progress. Treavor has been great in his coverage of our progress. The ballast is now going in and wow it now looks just great. The devil is in the details so we have a "tidy up" crew following the ballast gang to complete the landscaping etc.
We have just installed a 2 inch pipe on the outside of the track as well so that we can install signals and automatic switches down the road when and if we see fit. We thought that it would be a lot easier to put the plastic pipe in now while the track and roadbed is exposed than later. There is a 10" junction box at every switch and every 100 feet. The whole thing was just a few hundred bucks but I think that we will not be sorry we planned ahead.
Before we laid a single rail we put in water and power under the entire railroad so we have a water standpipe every two hundred feet and mains power every two hundred feet. Nothing is farther than one hose or extension cord away from water and power.
Keep up the great work and BTW very beautiful countryside. Look forward to more pix. Wish you were not so far away, would be fun to visit.

Hi Chris,
What a fabulous web site you produce.
Thanks for letting the MLS members know.
Peter has mentioned your track, but I did not realise you were quite so well advanced.
My 5" Maid of Kent is running and I am keen to come along and try your track.
I am very keen to support your private scheme, and would love to offer assistance, my problem is juggling my other commitments.
I am also trying to complete a 5'' gauge King for the steam convention @ Nelson in 2010.
Just shown Jenny your photos of the project and she is very impressed.
Having landscaped our section, we know the effort required, moving earth.
