Bill taking his brand new locomotive Speedy for its very first trip on the line. The level of detail he has put on this loco is impressive.

No - its not a rude gesture from the bushes. Peter is indicating he has completed Four laps without refilling the water (about 4km). Alice is running in nicely.

James with the spade is our newest regular. Keen as mustard, mum said to work him hard so we did! Jim, (the one looking like he is doing the haka), is an annual regular from the UK every Jan.

Ductline from the other end. Trackage here is due to be altered to lengthen the existing siding and add an additional loop to the right of the visible tracks.

Steve held the video camera just above the cab of his 5" guage Sandy River No 24 for a trip around the line last Saturday. You can watch it here on You Tube

The trip starts at the apex of the bottom loop beside the signal box and does a complete circuit. Watch for glimspes of Grant Alexanders 7.25" No 24 as he waits for access to the single line running section

Feb 2008 saw the official opening of the new dual guage track. Most of the Hillside branch was in place and we steamed Steve's number 24 for a family picnic day of fun

This gallery contains a photo record of the Manukau Live Steamers Christmas function December 2009. The track was not complete at this point (Down to South Bend only), but that didnt stop everyone having a good time!
